I’m 99.9% sure this is this guys life. Now that I live here, it’s completely different than I am used to. A BMW USED IT’S TURN SIGNAL. A bro-truck not only used it’s signal(admitedly, there kind of is bond between lifted vehicles), but flashed his lights to signify he was turning where I was so I didn’t have to wait(no one was behind him, I could see that).

Here’s the weird thing: when I first started watching this guy’s videos, I thought he was just as much of an asshole driver for laying on the horn so readily and for deliberately getting closer to the dumb lane changers than was necessary. But then I bought a WRX of my own and now I drive exactly the same way. Not that that makes it acceptable behavior, but just an observation. I guess it’s part of my brain saying “how could you not see me in an electric blue car with gold wheels?”

And the best part of this video was at 4:40 !

For me it depends on my mood. Some days I will wave someone in front of me even if they are cutting across 4 lanes to make an exit, other days I will honk if the guy in front of me sits at a green light for 2 seconds.

It’s nice to know that the Idiots are everywhere. It’s also a bit frightening..

Interesting. I for one find drivers here in Omaha quite good compared to everywhere else. Stuff like in the video above is a once a month occurrence for me, unless you count the dumbassery I encounter leaving school.

I guess I’m just used to Florida drivers that they seem great here.

Well to be honest, I am extremely kind and generous when letting people merge in. Mostly b/c I always leave a huge following distance so I always have extra time/space to react, but also b/c I can just anticipate others’ actions pretty well. It’s one of the side effects of driving a manual in traffic: I try to find the “average” speed so I’m not constantly downshifting every time I catch up with the traffic in front.

I’ve almost never had a problem with people sitting at a green light, but I do get annoyed when people don’t start creeping forward when cross-traffic gets a yellow.

Lane hogs are really the only thing that annoys me. I’ve found the best way to deal with them is to come up on them REALLY fast and get uncomfortably close to their bumper (like you do on a racetrack) before backing off to a generous following distance. Don’t flash your lights, and don’t honk your horn. Just try to maximize the amount of motion in their mirrors as your car approaches / backs off. They either get the message, or you now have plenty of runway in front of you to accelerate and pass them on the right.

All I can think is, why can’t cops do this in my state?

Maybe Google was right, people shouldn't be allowed to drive
